The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva was held on 26-30 April, 2023. The State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System With Renewable Energy Sources’ Wind Power Research Team made an impressive showing brought home both a Gold and Silver Medal Prize. The Gold Prize project“Solar-Wind Integrated Forecasting System” received recognition for its ability to provide centralized forecasting for large-scale integrated wind/solar generator clusters. By reducing the cost of forecasting modeling and improving accuracy, it offers great support for high-proportion wind/solar power generation connected to the grid. The Silver Prize project“Interactive Whole Coverage Synchronous System for human-power-load-carbon under of a carbon neutral city” was recognized for its capacity to accurately identify flexible load of urban population and provides carbon emission reduction support for high-level urban energy systems.

The International Exhibition of Inventions was first established in 1973 by the governments of Switzerland, the Canton of Geneva, and the Municipality of Geneva, together with the WIPO. The event is one of the longest and largest invention exhibitions, attracting more than 800 participants from 40 countries, showcasing over 1,000 inventions. The 2023 exhibition marked a historic highlight, as this was the first time that the Exhibition was hosted offline since the Covid outbreak. The Chinese Pavilion alone earned 55 gold prizes, with the event reaching an unprecedented high in terms of the number of inventors, universities, organizations, and enterprises in attendance.
