1.1 CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ALTERNATE ELECTRIC POWER GENERATION PROCESS AND ITS MODELING THEORY ELECTRIC POWER CONVERSION AND POWER QUALITY

This research is designed to establish the composite modeling theory based on the combination of theoretical analysis and data analysis, study the dynamic characteristics of large-scale alternate electric power generation processes which include wind energy, solar energy and biomass energy under multiple space and time scale, explore the interactive mechanism between power generation facility and power systems, set up the model for analyzing and controlling alternate electric power generation process, and to study the performance of large-scale thermal power generation system with large scope variable load. With a view to offering theoretical basis and technical support for the operation and optimization control of alternate electric power generation process, simulation system which includes all kinds of renewable generators with all operating modes is established.

1.2 MODELING AND SIMULATION OF ALTERNATE ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM

In this research the stochastic characteristics of the renewable energies and their effects on the power system are studied, with a view to developing the power system analysis methods considering the uncertainties and to building the power system model with the renewable energies. The intrinsic mechanisms of the low frequency oscillation and the resonance caused by the integration of the renewable energies are to be revealed. The stability mechanism and criteria for alternate electric power systems are studied. Moreover, the physical and digital simulation system for the power system in full consideration of the stochastic characteristics of the renewable energies is built as well, so as to provide theoretic fundamentals and technique means for the optimization and the operation of the power system with the renewable energy incorporated.
